when work works in kentucky
When Work Works is a national initiative that highlights the importance of workplace flexibility as a business strategy that helps both employers and employees succeed. It is funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and spearheaded nationally by a collaboration of the Families and Work Institute, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for a Competitive Workforce and the Twiga Foundation.

In 2008, Lexington and Louisville were selected as two of only 30 cities nation-wide to participate in this initiative. After fantastic response from the Lexington and Louisville communities and employers, iwin led the 2009 state-wide When Work Works initiative (and Greater Louisville Inc., led Louisville the Louisville area). Kentucky is one of only 3 states to be selected to take part on a state-wide level.
